Personal TV Schedule 10-30-10

College Football Week 9

Well we're almost two months down and in the last three weeks have seen three (3) different #1 teams fall on the road to ranked opponents.  The Volunteers put up a good first half against Alabama last week, but just like the Oregon game they got blown away in the 2nd half because of inexperience and lack of depth.  What will this week's game at South Carolina bring, most likely the same but then against LSU was suppose to be a blowout loss and came within a play of being a huge upset.  Meanwhile, the Chattanooga Mocs went into the 4th quarter last week against Furman down 28-10 and scored 26 unanswered points for the greatest come-from-behind victory in school history and ended a 15-game lossing streak against the Paladins.  Now the Mocs are ranked in both the FCS writers and coaches polls, the latter of which is on this website, and are at home against a 2-5 Elon Phoenix team that is better than its record indicates.  This could be a trap game in the classic sense or the Mocs could have their first six game winning streak since, well a really long time ago.  While I'll be checking out the Mocs game on the radio, this is what I'll be watching on the tube:

12:21 p.m.-4 p.m.
Tennessee Volunteers at South Carolina Gamecocks

The Vols make take their third trip on the road in SEC play and face the SEC East frontrunning Gamecocks in Columbia.  I fully expect to see a competive first half, but like against Alabama and Oregon the Gamecocks will take control in the second half.  I really don't have a back-up because none of the other games scheduled from my region are that appealing.

4 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Michigan State Spartans at Iowa Hawkeyes *primary*
Missouri Tigers at Nebraska Cornhuskers *secondary*
Auburn Tigers at Mississippi Rebels *begins at 6 p.m.*

Basically three potential upset games with three undefeated teams traveling in conference games.  The MSU-Iowa and Missouri-Nebraska match-ups I'll be flipping back and forth from, but I'm partial to the Big Ten game than the Big 12 however if the latter is more competitive than the former I'll switch.  Starting at 6 p.m., I'll be starting to look in at the Auburn game and if the other two games are well in hand for someone then I'll make that my primary game until the finish.

7:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
Auburn Tigers at Mississippi Rebels *begins at 6 p.m.*
Oregon Ducks at Southern Cal Trojans *maybe*

After the finish of the MSU-Iowa and Missour-Nebraska games, if one or both are competitive until the end, I'll concentrate on the Auburn game unless that has become a blowout.  If the Tigers are running away with the game, I might check out Oregon-USC but considering that might mean having to see He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named I might just call it a day on college football.

That's all for this week, come back next week to see my personal viewing schedule or leave a comment about what you're going to watch this week in college football.
