Welcome to the first installment of the Burgundian Art Deco House of Thought written by yours truely, Matt Ries (though you probably figured that out by my ID).
Before going into what I plan for this blog, let me tell you a little about myself. I’m nearly 30 and have lived in or around Collegedale, Tennessee, a suburb of Chattanooga, my entire life. My hometown is famous for two things: Southern Adventist University, which I am a graduate of, and McKee Food Corporation, the makers of Little Debbie snacks which you might have heard of before.
My objective for this blog is to post all my thoughts and proposals dealing with sports. Not very descriptive, I know, but think of it in broad terms of anything dealing with sports whether the topic I write on is something straight-forward as the current happens in a particular sport or simply an off-the-wall thought that has been bouncing around in my head and decided to write down or anything in-between.
The one thing that I will never bring up is anything dealing with politics. The only time I will bring up a political party, politician, or current national debate is if it directly relates to and/or impacts sports. As my motto says: “I’m here to talk sports, not politics.” So while it’s a free country, please feel free to take your politically related replies and comments somewhere else thank you.
I believe that covers everything that that needs to be said in this introductory post. Look for future posts that will cover a proposal related to Major League Baseball and the first of a series of posts related to my favorite & preferred teams in each of the particular sports that we can customize here on CBS Sports.
